Did the APC name a dead man in its Presidential Campaign Council?

The All Progressives Congress, APC has released its list of names on the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, causing some controversy in the process.

The list has a number of issues including:

The repetition of the name ‘George Akume’, the addition of a PDP Senator and senatorial candidate Chimaroke Nnamani, the alleged addition of the late Cross River Governor Chief Donald Etiebet, the omission of the names of the Vice President and SGF amongst others.

The APC admitted error in announcing former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani as a member of the council.

The person, who should have been listed is former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, a member of the council and one of the Spokesmen, Mr Bayo Onanuga.

Other discrepancies have not been explained but it it believed that the name of Don Etiebet was for the brother of the late governor who bears similar name. Late Chief Donald Etiebet died since 2015. The list is a 422-member campaign council.

Meanwhile Festus Keyamo, the campaign spokesman has said the omission of the Vice President and SGF’s names was because the president himself was on the list. The opposition have however pointed out that both President Buhari and VP Osinbajo were in the campaign list in 2019 as they poked holes in the explanation by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
