The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has unveiled the new naira notes design following the recent central bank of Nigeria policy.
Buhari unveiled the new currency notes on Wednesday morning before the federal executive council (FEC) meeting at the state house, Abuja.
Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (BN), was in attendance during the unveiling ceremony.
Recall that Emefiele had praised the initiative as a means to get more naira circulation following enormous hoarding over the years.
The minister of finance Zainab Ahmed had revealed that she was not carried along in the decision while stating that the policy has its merits and demerits.

Meanwhile Nigerians have reported seeing old notes resurfacing suddenly, following the announcement of the policy. The EFCC Chairman Bawa stated recently that the policy could lead to the naira rising to N200 per dollar.
