The international body, Guinness World Records, has officially recognized and certified Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci for the longest cooking marathon ever.
The body announced the decision moments ago having completed the process of verifying the authenticity of the record.
Recall that Hilda had sought to break the record previously held by an Indian chef, Lata Tondon in 2019.
The previous titleholder cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs.
Hilda had ended up surpassing her own target and cooking for 100 hours and 40 minutes in May uninterrupted.
According to GWR, Hilda wasn’t given the 100 hours because of the rules and calculations of the timing of breaks hence she was eventually awarded 93 hours and 11 minutes instead.
Dockaysworld also reported of another Nigerian Cook, Chef Dammy who is attempting to beat Hilda’s record and has currently surpassed the 100-hour-mark.
