The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has ordered its members nationwide to begin an indefinite strike action.
This is coming after a just-concluded meeting of leaders of the union today, Sunday, Nov 4, at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
ASUU chairman, Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, told reporters that the union took the decision due to the poor funding of universities in the country by the government.
