Singer Cynthia Morgan knocks Davido, Tiwa Savage for not attending Wizkid’s mum burial
Singer Cynthia Morgan has lamented on how singers Davido, Tiwa Savage and others failed to attend the burial ceremony of their colleague, Wizkid's mum.
Singer Cynthia Morgan has expressed her disappointment over the absence of several fellow artistes, including Davido and Tiwa Savage, at the burial ceremony of Wizkid’s late mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away on August 18, 2023, in London.
In a social media post, Cynthia Morgan wrote,
Not one male or female colleague of Wiz is at his mum’s burial. Nawa.
However, Nigerians quickly responded, suggesting that perhaps Cynthia Morgan had chosen not to invite anyone to the event.
Wizkid, who had been in a nearly month-long period of silence as he mourned the loss of his mother, made his first public appearance at a candlelight procession held in her honor.
Wizkid, born in Surulere, Lagos, on July 26, 1990, grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.
His mother had been a strong pillar of support throughout his remarkable rise in the music industry.
During his mother’s wake-keep ceremony, Wizkid expressed the depth of his grief, saying,
”The pain is profound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m lost but I pray God will comfort everyone of us”.
