Senate Affirms Maida As NCC Vice Chairman
The Senate has approved the nomination of Dr. Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission earlier today
The Senate has approved the nomination of Dr. Aminu Maida as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
The Senate approved his nomination earlier today following the consideration and adoption of a report submitted by the Senate Committee on Communication, which screened the nominee on Wednesday this week.
Meanwhile, during the presentation of the report in the plenary, the committee chairman, Senator Aliyu Ikra Bilbis (PDP Zamfara Central), disclosed that Maida’s nomination is in accordance with section 8 (1) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) Act, 2003.
He added that the committee found Maida deserving of the appointment during the screening exercise that was conducted for his appointment on Wednesday.
He, however, informed the Senate that Maida passed the security clearance and possessed the required qualifications, professional experience, and competence to occupy the office.
