I Didn’t Hide My Marriage – Salawa Abeni

Popular Nigerian singer, Salawa Abeni has taken many by surprise as she announced that she has been married for four years.

The singer announced the news last weekend at an event, which was the retirement and birthday ceremony of her husband, Rasheed Adahunse, who was the Comptroller and Commandant of the Customs Training College.

Salawa paid tribute to him during the ceremony as she prayed for him to live long and have abundance.

She added that she is grateful to him and glad that she decided to get married to him. The news surprised many as they did not know she had gotten married again.

Meanwhile, in a brief interview with Saturday Beats, she stated that she has never kept her marriage a secret and that the event was her husband’s retirement and birthday ceremony.

She said:

 

“The event was my husband’s retirement and birthday ceremony. Who did I keep it (news of the marriage) away from? The people who knew, knew. I have confirmed to you that I am married, and that’s what is important.”

Prior to her current marriage, the singer had been involved with the owner of Leader Records, Lateef Adepoju, which she was signed to then, and a fellow musician, Ayinla Kollington.
