Shettima chairs NEC meeting in Presidential villa

Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently leading the 137th meeting of the National Economic Council, which is coming two months after the council last had a meeting on September 28 to consider the areas of importance for the next three and half years, including welfare, security, and economic stability.

The 137th meeting is currently held today at the Council Chamber of the Presidential villa, Abuja, which is the fourth meeting to be held in the Tinubu administration.

The NEC, which is an authorised body obligated to advise the President on the nation’s economic affairs is led by the Vice President, alongside the Governors of the 36 states of the federation, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Minister of Finance and other stakeholders.

The meeting, which is probably the last one to held this year is attended by all governors except those of Osun, Akwa Ibom, Borno, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Lagos, Kano, and Enugu.
