  • A'Court declares Uba Sani as governor of Kaduna State
  • The Court dismissed PDP's evidence and witness, says it's inadmissible
  • The Court added that the allegations by witness were merely hearsay

The Court of Appeal has confirmed Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Kaduna State.

Declaring the judgement earlier today in Abuja, the three-member panel of the court of appeal held that the tribunal is in the wrong as it depended on inadmissible evidence to declare the conduct of supplementary polls in the 22 polling units of four local government areas (LGAs) where the election was considered Indefinite.

The Court added that the main witness called by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the tribunal hearing gave an evidence based on hearsay as he wasn’t there when the alleged malpractices happened.

The Court, however, held that the allegations of stuffing of ballot boxes, deduction of votes and mutilation sensitive electoral materials revealed by the key witness were all based on hearsay.
