Ondo High Court issues restraining order to prevent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu from inaugurating a Caretaker committee for LGAs and Local Council Development areas as requested by the PDP

  • Court stops Ondo LG caretaker committees by Gov Akeredolu
  • The order is to stop any inauguration until the suit is fully determined

The Ondo State High Court has issued an order preventing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration from inaugurating a Caretaker Committee for Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.

The court’s decision comes after a ruling by Justice Yemi Fasanmi earlier today, granting a restraining order as requested by the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The court’s order prevents the inauguration of any individual or group as caretaker committee members for local governments or local council development areas until the fundamental suit is fully resolved.

The development comes, following the Ondo State House of Assembly’s approval of 51 nominees for the Interim Management Committee of the 18 local government areas, and local council development areas within the state.
