Gov. Otti of Abia state has called on political leaders to make efforts to manage the top talents of the country and prevent them from migrating to other countries

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has called on Nigerian political leaders to make conscious efforts to ensure that the country’s top talents are retained and not allowed to migrate to other countries in search of greener pastures.

The governor said this at the funeral service of one of the country’s foremost chartered accountants, Elder Kalu Uke on Saturday at Isiugwu, Ohafia.

Otti added that his administration is committed to making Abia state a conducive place for people and businesses to thrive.

The governor, however, emphasised the importance of encouraging the younger generation to stay back in the country and making efforts to bring back those who had left.

He said:

“Today, we are here celebrating him; but as we celebrate him, we need to talk to ourselves. A lot of good men are going. We are now wondering, the best of the young people, are they here? Most of them have ‘japad’ (left the country). So, for those who are opportuned to lead, we need to deliberately make efforts to attract our best people back.”
