On Tuesday evening, a popular market identified as Wuse Market, one of Abuja’s busiest trading areas, was engulfed in flames, prompting nearby individuals to flee for safety.
While the cause of the fire remained unknown initially, both firefighters and security personnel were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Earlier, on February 29, 2024, Vanguard had reported a tragic incident where three individuals lost their lives due to a fire outbreak in a residential building located in EFAB estate, near Gwarinpa.
Occupants of the building, along with bystanders and members of the Federal Fire Service, worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames.
A safety official informed Vanguard that the victims had been transported to the morgue.
