FG lifts suspension on Arik Air

The Federal Government has lifted the suspension on Arik Air’s operations.

This decision was announced by Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, on Thursday.

This announcement comes after the airline’s planes were grounded for more than a week.

According to sources, the grounding affected all of Arik Air’s aircraft, even though it was officially stated that only four planes were grounded due to a court order.

One of the sources mentioned that Arik Air has three operational planes and one standby plane, all of which were affected by the court order.

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) followed the minister’s directive and did not allow the planes to take off.

However, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) acted as if Arik Air had more planes that were still in operation, which was not the case.
