NIMC sends important message to NIN holders

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has issued an important message to holders of its National Identity Number (NIN).

In a terse message posted on its X handle on Monday, NIMC called on holders of the NIN to update their children or wards’ NIN once they turn 16 years of age.

The commission asked them to visit a NIMC enrolment centre and migrate their children’s NIN.

“Please, visit a NIMC enrolment center and migrate your child NIN today!

“Kindly visit nimc.gov.ng for information on NIMC enrolment centres,” the post reads.

Recall that the NIMC had a few weeks ago, said as a parent or guardian, it is mandatory for them to enroll their children or wards for the NIN.

“This is because the system links your NIN with that of your child for authenticity. This linkage remains until your child attains the age of 16,” NIMC had said.
