Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has denied accusations of bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The allegations, raised by social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, revealed that Bobrisky paid N15 million to EFCC operatives to drop money laundering charges against him.
A viral audio clip, shared by VeryDarkMan, claimed that Bobrisky avoided serving a prison sentence by paying off EFCC officers.
In response, the EFCC announced that its chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an investigation into the matter.
Bobrisky, however, denied these claims in an Instagram post, stating that he did not bribe any officials and had served his prison term.
He dismissed the viral audio as false and urged the public to disregard the misinformation.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
