Son of former Nigerian Minister dies in Abuja


Richard Adamu Tallen, the only son of Dame Pauline Tallen, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has passed away at the age of 42.

He died on Sunday morning at Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja after being admitted for a brief illness.

The family has confirmed that Richard was placed on oxygen support in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit on Friday night, but the exact cause of his death remains unclear.

Richard was a graduate of Computer Science from a university in the United States and leaves behind a wife and three children.

The family will soon announce the details of his burial arrangements.

Also confirming the incident, his alma mater, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA, wrote on its social media platform:

“On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen.

“Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him.

“May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members RIP. Amen,” the group posted on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.
