Alhaji Alhassan Gwagwa, a long-standing ally of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar is dead.
Gwagwa was the pioneer chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Atiku, in a press statement signed by the his media office mourned the PDP party chieftain, saying that the deceased was a formidable pillar of the party.
According to the statement, “Alhaji Gwagwa will remain a pivotal figure in the history of our great party; his memory shall continue to inspire us about the sacrifices of great people who birthed the PDP,” Atiku said.
He urged members of the PDP in not only the North Central zone, but across the country to take a cue from the legacy of the late Alhaji Gwagwa, saying: “there is a lot of lesson in his extraordinary life as a patriotic leader and a community leader.”
