CBN Increases Interest Rate

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has adjusted its monetary policy rate to 27.50%, up from the previous 27.25%.

This change was decided after the most recent meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), which took place at the bank’s headquarters in Abuja.

The monetary policy rate, a key indicator in setting interest rates, directly influences the cost of borrowing and the overall economy.

CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso announced the decision on Tuesday, marking the final MPC meeting of the year.
