Joe Biden has granted pardons to those who President-elect Donald Trump had threatened to investigate.
The pardons were issued to protect people like Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, members of the January 6th Committee, and Capitol Police officers who testified about the Capitol riots.
Biden stated that the people had served the country honorably and should not face politically motivated investigations.
He also condemned Trump’s attempts to undermine democracy and target those who stood up for it.
Among the pardoned were Fauci, praised for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, Milley, commended for his 40 years of military service, and committee members like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, as well as police officers Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone.
