Fresh Update On Victims Involved In Ajah Building Collapse


A tragic building collapse in the Ikota area of Ajah, Lagos, has claimed two lives and left five others injured, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed on Tuesday.

According to NEMA’s Southwest coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, the incident occurred at Mega Mall Estate, Mobile Road, where a two-storey building under construction suddenly crumbled.

“An adult male and a teenage boy were found dead, while five injured adults have been rescued and taken to the hospital,” Farinloye reported.

Emergency responders are continuing search-and-rescue operations amid fears that more victims could still be trapped under the rubble.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the factors that led to the disaster.

Residents and experts are urging stricter enforcement of construction standards to prevent further tragedies.
