NSCDC Denies Allegations of Involvement in Kidnapping

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed reports linking its personnel to recent cases of kidnapping, banditry, and illegal arms supply.

In a statement on Wednesday, NSCDC spokesperson CSC Babawale Afolabi clarified that the suspects mentioned were dismissed from service in 2023 and acted independently.

The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to national security, stating that it works closely with other agencies to protect citizens and infrastructure.

Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi stated a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct and urged media outlets to report accurately to avoid misleading the public.
