Tinubu Signs Bill Creating New Development Commission for Another Region


President Bola Tinubu has signed a bill creating a development commission for the North-Central region of Nigeria.

The landmark signing was announced by Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, in the Senate chamber earlier today.

This new commission adds to the growing list of regional development bodies aimed at addressing specific developmental needs across Nigeria.

Currently, Nigeria has the following development commissions:

1. Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) – Focused on the Niger Delta region.

2. North-East Development Commission (NEDC) – Serving the North-East region.

3. North-West Development Commission (NWDC) – Dedicated to the North-West region.

4. South-East Development Commission (SEDC) – Addressing development in the South-East.

5. South-West Development Commission (SWDC) – Focused on the South-West region.

The new commission for the North-Central region is expected to bring targeted infrastructure, economic growth, and social development to the area.
