Three States Sue Trump Over Latest Order

Three U.S. states are suing the Trump administration after President Donald Trump signed an order to stop gender-changing medical treatments for children.

The states include Washington, Minnesota, and Oregon.

The order, called “Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” was signed in late January.

It bans medical procedures that change a child’s gender, saying they are harmful and irreversible.

Attorneys general from Washington, Minnesota, and Oregon argue that the order is unfair and unconstitutional.

They claim it violates the rights of transgender youth and takes away states’ power to regulate medical care.

Washington Attorney General Nick Brown strongly criticized the order, calling it “hateful” and saying it puts transgender children in danger.

The states have asked a court to block the order immediately.
