Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has claimed that he is undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta.
He made this statement after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police.
The incident that led to this declaration involved Portable allegedly attacking three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The officials were carrying out an enforcement exercise when they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father.
The officials requested the approved building plan, but the father informed them that Portable was not available.
However, shortly after, Portable arrived with a firearm and other weapons, leading a group of nine thugs to assault the officials.
The police reported that the officers were injured but managed to escape and report the attack, which led to an investigation.
Nine of Portable’s accomplices were arrested, but the singer himself fled the scene.
In response, Portable posted a series of rants on Instagram, claiming that he was being framed due to his clothing, which featured the face of Senator Adeola Solomon.
He also stated that he suffers from mental health issues and regularly takes medication at Aro Hospital, where he is a patient.
Portable appealed to Nigerians and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for understanding.
