The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has cancelled the licences of 574 schools in Nigeria due to their involvement in examination malpractice.
This means these schools will no longer be allowed to serve as centres for WAEC exams, starting with the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which begins on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
The announcement was made by Amos Dangut, head of WAEC’s national office, who stated that the list of these schools has been forwarded to the Federal Government for further action.
