Abia State government have been reportedly sued by cattle dealers over plans to demolish residential houses within the Umuchieze Garki Cattle Market.

The suit, scheduled for March 13, seeks to halt the government’s remodeling efforts and prevent the eviction of families residing in the market.

The dispute arose following a warning notice from the Town Planning Authority, triggering a legal battle represented by 12 individuals, including Sarkin Zango and Hussaini Muhammad.

The court is also considering an interim injunction to suspend the demolition pending a full hearing.
