Nigerian senator and uncle to Davido, Ademola Adeleke, has officially been sworn in as the sixth elected Governor of Osun State.
The new Governor took his oaths at the Osogbo city stadium in the state and was admonished by the State’s Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo who did likewise for his deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adegboyega Adewusi.
Immediately after taking office, the dancing Senator, as he’s fondly called has changed the name of the state from “State of Osun” to “Osun State” and also reversed its appellation from “The State of the Virtues” to “The State of the Living Spring”.
The new Governor threatened to undo the past actions of the previous Governor, Oyetola including some late appointments and promotions in the civil service.
Recall Oyetola had hastily organized a local government election in the twilight of his tenure.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been delighted to find Davido in the public eye for the first time since the death of his son ifeanyi as he attended his uncle’s inauguration.
Others in attendance include; PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and vice presidential candidate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Other governors and public office holders were also present.
