After loosing APC Senatorial ticket, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA), the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland and one of Olubadan’s chiefs, has started engaging with top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State as the 2027 general election approaches.
Olooye Adegoke met with some party leaders yesterday at the residence of the Co-Chairman of the PDP Elders’ Council, Chief Wole Oyelese, located in the Ikolaba Area of Ibadan.
In a statement provided to journalists, it was disclosed that the gathering also included the Chairman of the Elders’ Council, Dr. Saka Balogun from Ogbomoso, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees and former Chief of Staff to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala; Chief Hamid Gbadamosi and Chief Jacob Adetoro, both from Oke-Ogun; Prince Sunday Ogunlade from Oyo; and Chief Nureni Akanbi.
Although the outcome of the meeting remains undisclosed, with all attendees keeping their discussions private, political analysts believe the meeting was likely connected to Olooye Adegoke’s 2027 gubernatorial aspirations.
Olooye Adegoke had previously attended his PDP ward meeting last weekend, where, when asked about his political plans for 2027, he affirmed that his ambition is to serve as the governor of the state.
Known for his philanthropy, Olooye Adegoke has extended his charitable work across Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, and other areas of the state. His efforts, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, have benefited many widows and those in need.
In addition to his philanthropic contributions, he is also recognized for supporting the state’s healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.
