The Actors Guild of Nigeria has banned actors from working with Adanma Luke, the producer of the movie which actor Junior Pope had been cast in before he lost his life.
This was contained in a letter dated 11th of April, addressed to all of Nollywood and signed by the president of the guild Emeka Rollas.
The guild also ordered an indefinite end to shooting in riverine areas and specifically the production of the movie “the other side of life” which saw the death of Pope and some others.
Recall Pope had been thought to be dead and then temporarily revived before he later passed on.
The letter reads:
Following the tragic incident of boat mishap that claimed the life of Mr John Paul Odonwodo aka Junior Pope and four other crew members at waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on 10th of April 2024 on a movie set titled “The other side of Life” produced by Adamma Luke. The Leadership of the Guild has taken the following decisions
1. All Films that involve riverine areas and boat riding is herebysuspended indefinitely
2. No Shoot on all locations Nationwide on Thursday 11th April 2024
3. The film titled Another side of Life is suspended inde finitel)
4. No actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer till further notice
While we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining
persons may their soul rest in peace
