“We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here, nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before. I have been playing godfatherism, but now I want to be the father of the father, no more godfather,”  Ukachukwu said as he gave his acceptance speech.

Recall that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) concluded its governorship primary on Saturday, with Governor Chukwuma Soludo securing the ticket unopposed.

Soludo received 3,168 out of 3,172 votes from delegates.

He nominated his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, as his running mate for the November 8 election.

The Labour Party (LP) also successfully held its governorship primary, with Kingsley Moghalu clinching the party’s ticket for the upcoming election.

Meanwhile the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its governorship primary from April 5 to April 8.

The delay was due to administrative arrangements, as the party aims to ensure a smooth election process.

The Anambra Governorship Election is slated for November 8, 2025.
