Appeal Court: Kano NNPP Protest Against Verdict
The Chairman of Kano NNPP has protested against the judgement delivered by the Court of Appeal, dismissing Abba Kabir Yusuf as governor on grounds that he wasn't a valid party member
The Chairman, of the Kano State Chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has protested against the judgement declared by the Appeal Court against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The verdict delivered at the Appeal Court in Abuja earlier today had dismissed Governor Yusuf on the ground that he was not a valid or legitimate party member.
Hashimu in an interview with newsmen expressed that the verdict is a sign that democracy is gradually coming to an end in the country if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognised Yusuf as a member of the party, declared his victory in the election and handed him a certificate of return, but the judiciary will do otherwise.
He also urged the judges to fear God and not sell their integrity, saying that the case would be taken to a higher court for due judgement.
