The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has petitioned the Department of State Services, DSS, to arrest the candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed.
He accused the duo of “incitement and treasonable felony”, over comments he described as incendiary and capable of causing rebellion.
In the petition addressed to the Director-General DSS and dated March 23, the minister who is chief spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, said in a post-election period such as this, there was a need to soothe frayed nerves, lower the temperature and begin the healing process.
He wrote on Twitter:
Earlier today, I submitted a petition to the Dept. of State Services (DSS) against Mr. Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed to rein them in for their conducts and utterances which bother on incitement & treasonable felony. A call for peace & national healing does not amount to weakness
