Member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Surulere constituency, Desmond Elliot, has been spotted canvassing for votes in a church while suddenly speaking Igbo language.
Desmond alongside other politicians including the governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu have noticeably kicked their campaigns into another gear following the extension of the elections.
Desmond who was said to be seeking the votes of non-original inhabitants of Lagos stated that he was partly Igbo and it could not be erased from him.
Recall, Governor Sanwo-Olu had said the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC at the National level had affected the party at the state level. Many have now taken the numerous church visits to indicate a gesture to placate Christians in the state.
Tribal sentiments have also littered the Lagos state election with many referring to others as outsiders despite living in the same vicinity.
