Bandits Kidnap top government official in Abuja

A director of the Federal Housing Authority in Abuja has been abducted by bandits.


Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly kidnapped Aondo Ver, a director at Federal Housing Authority, Abuja.

The unfortunate incident happened at Pambara New Extension, Bwari Central Area of Federal Capital Territory in the early hours of Thursday.

Pambara New Extension is about 200 metres away from the military camp and checkpoint in Bwari.

The kidnappers reportedly accessed the area by cutting through the fence with barbed wires.

Despite efforts by local vigilantes to rescue the victim, their attempts were unsuccessful.

A resident said:

The attack is still shocking to us. Our estate is very close to the military base here known as ‘camp’ at the entrance of Bwari, and there are also serving and retired military personnel living with us here, yet these bandits were bold enough to attack this place and kidnap Mr Ver.”

FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh is yet to confirm the incident.

Recall that two teenage sisters were abducted by bandits at Guita community, Chikakore in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
