The Federal Government on Thursday announced readiness to begin the new minimum wage payment to civil servants.
Spokesperson for the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa revealed that employees under the federal government payroll can expect to receive notifications regarding their updated minimum wage salary payments from today.
However, Mokwa did not clarify whether the minimum wage would be disbursed along with any outstanding arrears.
A circular has emerged showing an updated Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS) for the implementation of the new minimum wage effective from 29th July 2024.
This new salary structure outlined annual earnings for public servants across various grade levels (GL) from GL 01 to GL 17.
At GL 01, entry-level salaries begin at N930,000 per annum, while the top grade level, GL 17, starts at N6,918,560 annually.
