A small community in Benue state has erupted in cheers of joy and excitement after a fisherman indigene killed a hippopotamus.
The incident happened between Adeka and Ebete, Usha Ward in Agatu LGA, Benue state today.
In a trending video seen by Dockaysworld, a bunch of young men of the community had joined hands with the fisherman to transport the carcass of the humongous animal back home for butchering and consumption.
Hippos are known to be deadly to humans and some have been spotted in riverine areas, particularly during the heavy floods last year.
Though the animal is not a staple food source of the average Nigerian, the community had no compunctions about feasting on the rare catch.
