Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, wife of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been retained in the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, following a major redeployment of justices across Nigeria.
In the posting list obtained on Monday, titled “Posting of Honourable Justices As At 22nd April, 2025,” and signed by M. B. Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal, justices are expected to report to their new divisions by May 5, 2025.
According to the list, while other justices were posted across various divisions, Justice Eberechi Nyesom-Wike remained stationed in Abuja.
She will serve alongside Hon. Justice H. A. Barka, who has been designated as the Presiding Justice for the Abuja Division. Other justices in Abuja include Hon. Justice B. B. Aliyu, Hon. Justice A. I. Banjoko, Hon. Justice A. B. Mohammed, Hon. Justice O. E. Abang, Hon. Justice D. U. Okorowo, and Hon. Justice O. O. Oyewumi.
Meanwhile, in other divisions, significant changes were made. In Lagos Division, Hon. Justice Y. Nimpar was posted as the Presiding Justice, joined by Hon. Justices J. E. Ekanem, F. A. Ojo, D. Z. Senchi, P. A. Bassi, N. U. Okaisabor, P. T. Kwahar, Abdulazeez M. Anka, and U. Onwosi.
For Kaduna Division, Hon. Justice O. A. Otisi was appointed Presiding Justice, accompanied by Hon. Justices A. O. Obaseki-Adejumo, A. M. Bayero, S. O. Nwaka Gbagi, and M. S. Hassan.
Hon. Justice B. A. Georgewill will head the Ibadan Division, supported by Hon. Justices Ebiowei Tobi, K. I. Amadi, B. F. Zubairu, and Fadawu Umaru.
Enugu Division will have Hon. Justice J. O. K. Oyewole as Presiding Justice with Hon. Justices M. Mustapha, I. W. Jauro, and Zainab B. Abubakar.
In Benin Division, Hon. Justice B. G. Sanga was posted as Presiding Justice alongside Hon. Justices Y. A. Bashir, L. A. Ganiyu, and Asma’u Ojuolape Akanbi.
The Jos Division will be led by Hon. Justice M. O. Bolaji-Yusuf, with Hon. Justices I. A. Andenyangtso, P. O. Affen, and A. A. Akinyemi.
For Port Harcourt Division, Hon. Justice O. E. Williams-Dawodu will serve as Presiding Justice, joined by Hon. Justices M. I. Sirajo, H. A. Laja Balogun, and Ishaq M. Sani.
In Kano Division, Hon. Justice M. A. Danjuma was appointed Presiding Justice, with Hon. Justices B. M. Ugo, O. Goodluck, and A. R. Mohammed.
Calabar Division will have Hon. Justice U. Onyemenam as Presiding Justice, along with Hon. Justices M. Danjuma, L. B. Lawal-Akapo, and Eleojo Eneche.
For Ilorin Division, Hon. Justice R. M. Abdullahi was posted as Presiding Justice, alongside Hon. Justices G. O. Kolawole and Abdu Dogo.
Owerri Division will be led by Hon. Justice A. A. Wambai with Hon. Justices S. A. Bola, M. L. Abubakar, and Ntong F. Ntong.
Hon. Justice M. L. Shuaibu will serve as Presiding Justice in Sokoto Division, accompanied by Hon. Justices A. M. Talba, Abdullahi M. Liman, and Victoria T. Nwoye.
In Yola Division, Hon. Justice F. O. Oho will preside, supported by Hon. Justices P. A. Mahmoud, O. A. Adegbehingbe, and N. O. Dimgba.
Ekiti Division has Hon. Justice I. O. Akeju as Presiding Justice, with Hon. Justices A. M. Lamido and J. E. Inyang.
Akure Division will be led by Hon. Justice O. F. Omoleye, with Hon. Justices P. C. Obiorah and H. R. Shagari.
For Makurdi Division, Hon. Justice T. O. Awotoye was appointed Presiding Justice, with Hon. Justices B. I. Gafai, A. Waziri, and N. I. Afolabi.
Asaba Division will have Hon. Justice O. O. Daniel-Kalio as Presiding Justice, joined by Hon. Justices J. G. Abundaga, U. A. Musale, A. M. Mainoma, and Olukayode A. Adeniyi.
Finally, Maiduguri Division will be headed by Hon. Justice A. A. B. Gumel, alongside Hon. Justices U. A. Ogakwu and R. O. Ayoola.
Notably, Awka and Gombe Divisions were left without justices. Appeals from Awka will now be heard in either Enugu or Asaba Divisions, while those from Gombe will be determined in Maiduguri Division.
According to the posting list, Hon. Justices of the Ilorin Division will sit for one week each month at the Ibadan Division, while Hon. Justices of Ekiti Division will also sit for one week each month at Akure Division.
Justices must report to their new divisions by May 5, 2025.
However, the posting does not affect special panels, which shall proceed as earlier scheduled.
