The Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) announced it seized wildlife products worth N5.93 billion and intercepted 105 shipments of illegal drugs in 2024.
Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi shared this during the 2025 International Customs Day.
He explained that the service made significant progress in stopping wildlife trafficking, illegal timber trade, and hazardous waste smuggling.
Adeniyi also stated other achievements, including:
Generating a record N6.1 trillion in revenue, exceeding targets by 20%.
Cutting cargo clearance time by 66% using a new platform called B’Odogwu.
Managing imports worth N60.29 trillion and exports worth N136.65 trillion.
He assured the public that the NCS remains focused on improving trade and security while contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.
