Details of Peter Obi’s meeting with Atiku emerge

The details of 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s meeting with Atiku Abubakar has emerged.

The former Anambra governor met Atiku at his Abuja residence on Monday.

Peter Obi’s spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko in a statement on Monday evening revealed that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the state of the nation and how to reduce the suffering presently faced by Nigerians especially those in the North.

Asides from Atiku, Peter Obi also visited former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Former Governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido.

However, the meeting sparked reactions amongst Nigerians on Twitter, with some speculating that Atiku and Obi were collaborating to forge a formidable alliance aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Sodiq Tade: “For the first time since May 2022, Peter Obi visits his political leader and benefactor, Atiku Abubakar, in his private residence, Abuja. My source confirmed that he may suspend his 2027 ambition to work together with Atiku if necessary. We are going on a rescue mission in 2027”.

Otunba: “If Atiku and Peter Obi work together in 2027 they’ll kick Bola Tinubu out. Two options. 1) Atiku drops his ambition and supports Peter Obi for President. 2) Peter Obi agrees to be Atiku’s running mate, then in 2031 after Atiku’s administration Obi will run as President”.

Queen Bee: “What is going on here?Anything less than Atiku throwing his weight behind Peter Obi for Presidency in 2027 will not be acceptable. Atiku must play the fatherly role now and not allow Wike’s plan be actualised in 2027″.

Mr Ebony: “Does that mean Peter Obi is now ready to be vice president to Atiku in 2027?Abi how’s the arrangement going to work out?”

Abdullahi Umar: “Protecting the interests of the people requires a lot of sacrifice, compromise, and negotiation. To do that, sometimes you have to dine with your enemy to achieve your goal on the local level and on the national stage”.

Danee: “Form the coalition. Obi runs as Vice President and replaces Atiku after 4 years. Easy!”

Son of Glory: “This is politics and let’s be factual with ourselves .If they don’t form an alignment they can never remove APC in power. Not like the alignment would work but it would give them a proof of doubt”.
