The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has attributed the ongoing power outage in parts of the Federal Capital Territory to a fault in the 132-kilovolt line 182 connecting Katampe to the AT5 Central Area Transmission Station.
In a statement released Friday via its official X account, AEDC identified the affected areas as Federal Secretariat, Wuse Zone 1-7, Central Mosque, Energy Commission, Transcorp Hotel, Eagle Square, Yar’Adua Centre, the entire Central Area, Maitama, Kado Estate, parts of Jabi District, and Areas 7, 8, and 10 in Garki.
The Disco assured residents that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is actively investigating the issue to ensure prompt restoration of power supply.
“The TCN team is working tirelessly to identify and resolve the cause of the outage. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and assure residents that power will be restored as quickly as possible,” AEDC stated.
This follows recent disruptions across Abuja and Nasarawa State due to ongoing relocation of key transmission lines, including the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo lines.
