EFCC Names Academy After Murdered Officer

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has renamed the Administrative Department of its academy in Karu after the late Assistant Superintendent, Aminu Salisu, who was tragically killed in the line of duty.

Salisu was fatally shot on January 17 in Anambra State by a suspected internet fraudster, Joshua Ikechukwu.

Speaking at the EFCC’s 2024 Rewards and Recognition Awards in Abuja on Saturday, Chairman Ola Olukoyede vowed that the commission would ensure Salisu’s killer is brought to justice.

He also reaffirmed the EFCC’s commitment to supporting the families of officers who lose their lives in service.

“We will not forget those who have sacrificed their lives for this nation,” Olukoyede said.

“The administrative building of EFCC Academy will now bear the name of Aminu Salisu, in recognition of his bravery.”

The EFCC boss further emphasised the agency’s resolve to continue its fight against financial crimes, despite challenges and resistance.

He commended award-winning staff members at the event, urging them to persist in their efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption.
