Fatima Buhari, daughter of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has been appointed as the first ambassador for the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
This milestone comes shortly after her inauguration as the Coordinator for the Katsina State chapter of the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN).
The announcement was made during a dinner held to celebrate ANAN’s newly appointed leaders.
The organization’s National President, James Neminebor, urged the new executives to focus on promoting professional excellence within their respective states.
He highlighted the importance of adopting professional accounting practices to enhance financial transparency in both public and private sectors.
In her response, Fatima Buhari described her new role as a groundbreaking achievement for women accountants in Northern Nigeria.
She emphasized its importance in showcasing the contributions of female professionals to the nation’s financial management.
