In the early hours of Saturday, an explosion rocked the Rivers State secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Port Harcourt.
Dockaysworld reports that this incident happened just hours before the local government elections.
The blast, believed to have been caused by explosives, damaged the main gate, the security post, and part of a nearby building.
Videos circulating online showed the aftermath of the explosion.
The caretaker chairman of the APC in Rivers, Chief Tony Okocha, pointed fingers at supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the attack, alleging an attempt to escalate tensions ahead of the polls.
Amid controversies surrounding the Rivers local government poll, accreditation and voting has started in many polling centres around Port Harcourt City.
