The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics pointed out the financial difficulties caused by the postponed payments.
The union explained that the delay stemmed largely from payroll system changes affecting workers’ financial stability.
A high-ranking official in the Federal Ministry of Defence confirmed the payment, noting that many workers were considering staying home due to the extended delay.
Additionally, a teacher from a government school verified that her salary was paid on Monday, describing the wait as extremely challenging given the financial strain.
Workers called on the government to prioritize timely payments to alleviate their economic challenges.
