FG To Convict Ex-CBN Gov, Emefiele Over Suspected Economic Sabotage Charges

Ex-CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele has been charged with suspected economic sabotage charges and is expected to stand trial today at a High Court in Abuja

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has been charged with suspected economic sabotage charges by the Federal Government.

Emefiele, whose trial was called off about 24 hours ago, will be put on trial at a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja today.

Meanwhile, one of the lawyers in his defence team, Maxwell Opara, affirmed that the notice of summon had been served on the former CBN Governor for him to appear in court today.

Emefiele is expected to appear in court with Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Matthew Burkaa, who signed an undertaken to bring him for trial while he was granted bail by Justice Olukayode Adegbola Adeniyi of the FCT High Court.
