Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ishielu/Ezza North federal constituency identified as Obinna Nwachukwu along with 2,000 loyalists, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.
The defection, which occurred at the APC state party secretariat in Abakaliki, was marked by Nwachukwu’s praise for Governor Francis Nwifuru’s ongoing projects and his gratitude towards APC state Chairman Stanley Okoro Emegha for welcoming him and his supporters into the party.
Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration for the betterment of Ebonyi State, urging all stakeholders to work together towards common goals.
His defection is expected to impact the state’s political landscape and governance dynamics in the upcoming elections.
In response, APC Chairman Emegha expressed support for a one-party system in Ebonyi State, believing it would promote stability, continuity, and development.

Emegha assured that the defectors would be integrated into the party and state affairs, welcoming all who wish to join the APC for the betterment of Ebonyi State.
