Former Rep Urges Zamfara Gov To Act On Committee Reports To Address Insecurity

Ex-Reps member, Sani Takori has urged Gov Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State to take action on the committee reports submitted to him to end insecurity in the state

A former member of the House of Representatives, Sani Takori, has urged Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State to implement the reports submitted to him by two security committees headed by former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar and former Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, to put an end to insecurity in the state.

Takori, who represented the Bukkuyum/Gummi federal constituency of Zamfara State between 2007 and 2011, disclosed that there are some important recommendations in the committees’ reports that can aid the fight against banditry if executed by the state government.

Takori further appealed to the governor to always join hands with retired military and security personnel for beneficial advise on how to address insecurity in the state.

According to the former lawmaker, no resident of Zamfara State is happy with the high level of insecurity in the state.

He said:

“Let me tell you the truth, my humble governor, many legitimate endeavors have been shut down due to mainly insecurity. The farmers that have no other means of livelihood except farming have turned to streets beggars.
“Farmers no longer access their farmlands due to insecurity situation which has brought about the unwanted escalation of prices of foodstuffs in the market, making the poor masses to wonder if actually Nigeria is practicing democracy in the country.”
