Full List Of Nigerian Police Officers Ordered to Retire for Falsifying Age


A full list of 467 Nigerian police officers who were caught falsifying their age and violating service rules have emerged. 

Some well-known names on the list which was obtained by Sahara Reporters include, Simon Lough (SAN) and Benneth Igweh.

According to reports, the affected officers come from different police training courses, including:

15 officers from the 2002 Cadet Inspectors Course

33 officers from the 2000 Cadet Inspectors Course

12 officers from the 1996 Cadet Inspectors Course

24 officers from the 1994 Cadet Inspectors Course

14 officers from the 2002 Cadet ASP Course

48 officers from the 2000 Cadet ASP Course

34 officers from the 1996 Cadet ASP Course

11 officers from the 1994 Cadet ASP Course

209 officers from a 2003 promotion course in Jos

10 officers from an additional undisclosed list

Some officers implicated in the scandal have already retired quietly.

Retired Officers Demand Police Chief’s Resignation

In response to their forced retirement, some senior officers are now demanding that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun also step down.

They claim his post-retirement actions are illegal.

Recall that there were past reports on widespread forgery and rule violations among police officers, leading to this mass retirement order.
