The Edo State Government has renamed seven ministries to improve public service operations.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor.
Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the adjustments to bring the ministries in line with modern governance standards.
The affected ministries and their new names are:
– Ministry of Roads and Bridges is now Ministry of Works
– Ministry of Local Government, Community, and Chieftaincy Affairs is now Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
– Ministry of Communication and Orientation is now Ministry of Information and Communications
– Ministry of Mining and Energy is now Ministry of Mining
– Ministry of Water Resources is now Ministry of Water Resources and Energy
– Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues is now Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development
– Ministry of Digital Economy, Science, and Technology is now Ministry of Science and Technology
The government assured citizens that these changes will improve service delivery and governance in the state.
