Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has approved the appointment of administrators for the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state, effective from April 7, 2025.
This follows a recent ruling from a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, which had temporarily halted the appointment of administrators.
In addition to these appointments, Ibas has also approved the reconstitution of some suspended boards for various government agencies.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Worika, in a government statement on Wednesday.
Furthermore, Ibas cancelled all ongoing procurement and tender processes in the state’s ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), citing the Supreme Court’s judgment and the lack of an appropriation law during this period.
He has also directed that contractors who paid fees for these tenders be refunded.
